Welcome to the HIM Program
The HIM Program (Health Interventions for Men) is a Red Door Program of the Hennepin County Public Health Clinic (formerly known as the Red Door Clinic), Minnesota's largest HIV/STD testing center. Our program provides a number of different sexual health services for gay and bisexual men.
We welcome all men who have sex with men - gay, straight, bisexual, curious, closeted, out, in, HIV-negative, HIV-positive - who want support for healthy sexual behavior and want to learn about decreasing risks around HIV/STD infection or re-infection.
Through the HIM Program, you can set up appointments online for syphilis, rapid HIV testing and full STI exams, so you can avoid waiting for walk-in services at our clinic.
The HIM Program can help you learn about:
- Safer sex practices
- Your perception of risk for HIV/STD infection
- Positive sexual attitudes
- Healthy relationships
- Eroticizing condoms and lube
- Up to date HIV/STD information
- Dating and personal boundaries
- Affirming one’s identity and sexuality
- What to do in the event of an exposure (post exposure prophylaxis) PEP
- Assessing if you are a candidate HIV prevention medications (PrEP)
- Risk reduction strategies for people who prefer high risk sexual behavior
